Anthony's MS Medical Expense Fund
After a long, stressful, & anxiety driven journey of long hospital visits, testing, and days of being bed ridden due to the inability to walk or use many motor functions- Anthony was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis on October 9th 2017.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that disrupts the flow of information within the brain, and between the brain and body.
He has been on medications to suppress the symptoms which include fatigue, numbness, weakness, balance and difficulty walking, muscle spasms, vision problems, brain fog, dizziness, pain, speech issues, and so much more. These are only A FEW of the symptoms he has to live with every single day as he summons the strength for his 6 year old son AJ, and attempt to work and lead a 'normal' life.
I met Anthony in 2011 as my boyfriend's best friend. In 2015 we had the honor of somewhat officially 'adopting' him into our little family as my son Dayton's Godfather-and shortly after that he became a little more official part of the family when he began his current and long time relationship with Danielle DeGain, Derek's sister- who has been by his side helping him and his son AJ get through the struggles of daily life with MS and the long journey of diagnosis and treatments.
On January 5th, Anthony has an AMAZING opportunity to go to Mexico for Stem Cell treatment that will hopefully change his life. He had to come up with $50,000 (very quickly) to commit to the treatment and he has to be there for one month. Danielle and his mother will be back and forth by his side and his supportive family at his side helping with his son while he is gone. The goal is to just raise enough money to assist with the $50k that is cost to be a part of this treatment, and some of the cost of the hotel, food, transportation, air fare, etc. that this potentially life saving trip could cost.
As most of you know, Anthony doesn't really 'need' this - he DESERVES it. He was a US Marine for 5 years- which the symptoms actually started shortly after he arrived back to the states. He has worked his fingers to the bone 6-7 days a week for years to provide for his family and his son at his family owned junk yard. 99.9% of the people you talk to about Anthony will tell you he has helped either them or someone they know in one way shape or form- he is just genuinely kind, caring, and just always willing to be there for others to help them without blinking an eye.
He is A Father. A Veteran. A Son. A Brother. A Lover. A Friend. A kind and generous human being- and so much more. Any little bit helps, and if you are not able to donate, please share. Thank you for reading through and spreading the word.
