Anthony's medical relief
Hi my name is Susan and I am Anthony's big sister. Many of you know his medical background but for others I'll try to condense it all down. Anthony had a stroke at 14 and has had a lot of medical repercussions throughout the years that stem from the stroke. This led him to become a heavy alcoholic drinker to cope with the ptsd and medical issues. In July Anthony was admitted to Regions ICU with liver failure, kidney failure, staph infection and internal bleeding. He also at one point had sepsis. He remained in ICU for 7 weeks. He was given a 50/50 chance of living 3 months or less which crushed our family. He is now in a transitional care center 2.5 hours away working on physical therapy, occupational therapy. Chemical dependency and mental health therapy. He has not been able to work in over a year and his girlfriend has been juggling her time between work, taking care of their dogs and as of last night she got into a car crash and has totalled her car so she is unable to make the trek to go visit him. They're struggling HARD to make ends meet and are at a high risk of loosing their home. Without Anthony being home this winter they are also at risk of the pipes in their home freezing and the hoke being unmaintained. Family is doing all they can to try to help but we're running low on resources. These guys need the help more than you could imagine. The money donated will go towards heavy medical bills and to keep their home so he has somewhere to come home to when he is better. I want to thank everyone for their help and kind words during this very difficult time.
