Dear Friends and Family,
My name is Vicki Corliss. Anthony Freeman is the 35 year old son of a longterm friend. I have known him since he was a little boy growing up in Claremont, California. I have started this fundraiser because I am very close to the family and they have done so much for me throughout the years. I want to pay forward all the kindnesses they have given to me and to others.
Anthony and his family are in dire straits and desperately need our help.
Anthony and his wife Rashell now live in Arizona with their four children, 3 girls and 1 boy, ages 13, 6, 3, 5 months. Anthony was a mechanic by trade and his income was the only source of money for their family. His wife Rashell homeschools all of their children and tends to their very large garden raising vegetables, fruit and chickens for their food. They also support her father who has a heart condition and lives with them. He is unable to work.
In the end of 2024, Anthony started experiencing abdominal pain and nausea. Things progressively got worse in the beginning of 2025. He began having severe bouts of vomiting that would last hours. Due to this, he started missing work. For the most part, he pushed through because he learned perseverance and to be a dependable person at a young age.
He ended up in the ER for the first time on January 20, 2025 where they found a mass of some sort. The emergency room doctor said it was due to "severe constipation " and sent him home telling him to take stool softeners. He suffered on and off for the next 2 months. Then March 19th, he unfortunately ended up being let go from his job due to his illness!!!!!
Fast forward to April 21st....the ER finally decided to scan him again. His mass had grown tremendously. April 23rd he had a colonoscopy to see if it was an inflammatory response or a tumor. The news we dreaded to hear....a tumor. A few days later the biopsy results came back as adenocarcinoma (cancer). It was found at stage 3.
He had to have major surgery to cut out a very large piece (almost the whole right side) of his colon. He met with the surgeon last week and found out the cancer has gone outside of the colon and he will need to start chemotherapy right away.
In addition to all of this, his family vehicle's engine has internal issues and has been sitting for months un-useable. Bills and life are stacking up and Anthony's job was their only source of income. Their only option right now is to apply for disability which can take a very long time. Also they are uncertain what medical bills insurance will pay and what treatments insurance will allow. Currently they need money to get the vehicle fixed, and for their daily living expenses like food, cloths, diapers, utilities, and medical expenses that aren't covered. The children also have doctor appointments they need to get to. However, in order to even do these things, they need transportation to get there. Taking a bus is not an option as they live 30 miles from the nearest town and there are no nearby buses. It will cost about $2600 to fix the vehicle. So we think that fixing the car is the top priority and then money for the rest of the expenses.
Friends, thank you so much for anything that you can contribute, however we understand if you can not contribute money at this time. Please send prayers out to this wonderful family!!
We will post regular updates on Anthony's progress.
Thank you, Vicki Corliss
