Anthony Perri's Brain Tumour Recovery Fund

We are raising money to help Anthony during this time in his life after his second brain surgery. Since Anthony owns his own tiling business and this is a pre-existing condition, he is not covered by insurance. This means all of his outgoing bills are still coming in with him being off work for 6 months. We are hoping everyone can band together and make this time round a little easier for Anthony!
In 2013, at 21 years of age playing semi-professional soccer, Anthony had clashed heads with another player and went to the hospital to have a precautionary head scan for concussion. Unfortunately, the doctors found that Anthony had a tumour growing in the centre of his brain, a devastating blow to himself and his family.
After seeing the specialist, it was deemed to be a rare type of tumour that not many surgeons in Australia had seen or operated on before so the specialist told Anthony that they would monitor the tumour for growth. A few years passed but in May 2015 Anthony’s tumour had grown and would need to have emergency surgery immediately as if left, it would begin to block spinal fluid causing life threatening implications. After undergoing the first surgery the specialist had told Anthony he had removed as much as possible without implication. The initial recovery took Anthony 6 months, with re-learning to walk again and re-gain his strength and balance. As you could imagine it was a challenging time but Anthony persevered and started up his own tiling business within the same year.
After 3 years of monitoring the tumour, unfortunately, it had re-occurred this year. The specialist advised Anthony to have surgery as soon as possible to ensure he would be back on his feet for his wedding in June 2019. The second time around was a little tougher on Anthony, knowing the process and recovery time after surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was done and Anthony is on the mend, getting better day by day with the full support of his family and friends. There’s still a long journey ahead but together we can help make this time a little easier.
