Medical Expenses for Anthony

UPDATE: Thanks so much for your help! Due to your loving generosity a lift chair was waiting for dad when he came home after 5 weeks (2 hospitals and 1 skilled nursing facility). He was moved to tears.

He still has a long road ahead of him. The complications from dialysis still need to be worked out. He also took two falls (one in each hospital) when aides walked him to the bathroom then left him alone and unsteady, leaving him with a serious shoulder and low back injury and extreme pain. Needless to say, he has many doctors appointments right now and new prescriptions = lots of co-pays. Finances are tight, the smallest gift from a friend could help a lot right now. Thank you and may God bless you!

This is my father Anthony, he was a home builder in upstate New York for 45 years. He worked hard his whole life and did a lot to help many people, especially young couples who were just starting out and couldn't afford a downpayment on a new home. He retired to Arizona over 15 years ago.

11 years ago he had surgery for colon cancer. While in recovery he could not be stabalized. Long story short, within a week he was in severe septic shock with kidney & lung failure, ecoli in his lungs, yeast in his blood and two fungai in the wound, he spent 4 months in the hospital. It was a miracle he lived. The next 11 years were full of pain and suffering; a permanent illeostomy, several surgeries, chronic kidney disease, neuropathy, many doctor appointments and medical expenses.
His kidney function has slowly declined over the years and he is now in end stage renal failure, he began dialysis 3 months ago. He has spent the past three weeks in the hospital due to a complication from dialysis. He is now in a skilled nursing facility receiving physical and occupational therapy, as he is very weak and unsteady.

Four months ago his lift chair collapsed. My parents can not afford to replace it so my mother has propped it up against the wall, but it no longer fully functions. He really needs a new chair that can raise him to a standing position. With all my father has been through it would mean so much to be able to get a new one provided for him, even more if it could be waiting for him when he comes home. Any funds donated above the cost of a chair would be put towards their abundant medical expenses: doctor co-pays, prescriptions, ostomy supplies....
