Help Cesar Find a Living Kidney Donor My name is Anthony Trevino, and I’m raising funds to help my friend Cesar Gonzalez reach a potential living kidney donor. This fundraiser originally supported medical testing to explore whether I could donate a kidney to him. My transplant coordinator has since confirmed that my personal and family history of kidney stones makes donation unsafe for me, and additional testing would not erase that history. I spoke with Cesar, and he understands the decision. Together, we want to focus on reaching someone who may be eligible to donate. Our proposed new purpose is to fund a billboard, printed flyers, and other outreach to share Cesar’s need for a kidney donor. These materials will direct interested people to his transplant team for information and evaluation. We’ll choose outreach options based on the funds available and share updates about how the money is spent. Because this changes the original purpose, I’m notifying donors and will confirm the appropriate process with GoFundMe before using existing donations for outreach.
