My name is Stephen Hernandez. Anthony Toomata my long time friend and brother was admitted to the hospital the 3rd week of June 2021 and diagnosed with COVID-19 pneumonia. Anthony's case was so severe the Dr.s had to put Anthony to sleep and support his breathing with a respirator in order for Anthony's lungs to fight off the illness and heal. Anthony's Dr.'s said he is one out of a handful of people to survive the state of infection he was in and he is lucky to be alive. Anthony was brought back to full consciousness the 3rd week of July 2021 and on the road to recovery. I started this gofundme in collaboration with his Mother to help him not worry about expenses and focus on recover and rehabilitation. Myself, and all Anthony's family and friends that love him are doing every thing we can to help him in the path to recovery. Anthony still has a long way to go, and with the level of damage to Anthony's lungs we anticipate he will be in rehabilitation for 3-6 months before he is fully functional and not on oxygen. Any help in easing his stress and getting Anthony back to doing the things he loves in life will be appreciated.
