Anthony Stefan's Memorial Fund
Donation protected
After the passing of our mother Sylvia, to cancer in May of 2016, and the tragic loss of our oldest brother Andrew, to suicide in March of 2018, our bereaved brother Anthony moved from his hometown in Alaska, to North Carolina December of 2018, to live with a friend. Despite our efforts to support and stay in touch, Anthony could not cope with the painful connection to his family anymore. Sadly, spring of 2020, he was declared missing. We had filed a missing person’s report with NC’s local authorities, but because of the distance and circumstances regarding the outbreak of COVID, we were limited in our resources and abilities to search for him, always hoping he was still out there, okay somehow. However, this last July we received the dreaded phone call that confirmed our worst fears; we were notified by local authorities of found human remains that matched the description of Anthony’s missing person’s report.
After months of investigation, we've recently received confirmation that we are finally able to have Anthony returned home to us.
News of his death this summer came as a shock to all of us, and with that shock also came unexpected expenses. Our wish is to have his body cremated, and send his ashes from North Carolina, back home to Alaska. There we can have a memorial for him come the spring / summer time, when the ground thaws.
If you feel inclined to donate, it would cover the costs of his cremation, an urn, shipping, necessary death documents, costs associated with the memorial, and transportation and housing expenses for his siblings living across the nation, to travel to Alaska to attend his memorial.
We deeply appreciate all the effort and support through social media to search for him, that we received from family, friends, and the community. Though this was not the outcome anyone was expecting, we hope to find closure and bring him final peace in his return to Alaska. We’re so grateful for the constant outpour of love, prayers, and donations you’ve given during this difficult time.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to donate and share this page - to help bring Anthony home for his final rest.
