In Loving Memory of Anthony Douglas Sealey (aka "Seal Dog")
It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the passing of a much-loved friend, community legend, and true gentleman — Anthony Douglas Sealey, affectionately known to many as "Seal Dog" or simply "Tony."
Tony was a proud son of Queanbeyan and a cherished alumnus of St Edmund’s College. He was a man who never hesitated to put his hand up when help was needed — always the first to volunteer, always thinking of others before himself. Whether it was through community outreach, Catholic charity work, or simply looking out for those who were struggling, Tony lived a life of service, compassion, and quiet strength. His generosity of spirit and unmistakable presence left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Sadly, on June 16th, Tony's long and courageous battle with ongoing health issues came to an end. He faced his challenges with the same resilience and dignity that defined his life, never allowing hardship to dim his care for others.
Due to his health, Tony was unable to maintain full-time work for many years, which limited his ability to provide financially for his family. As we come to terms with his passing, we are now asking for support from those who knew and loved him — or those simply moved by his story — to help provide his wife Laura and their family with some relief in this incredibly difficult time.
We are seeking financial assistance to help cover the costs of Tony’s funeral and to ensure he receives the heartfelt and dignified farewell he truly deserves — one that reflects the love, respect, and impact he had on so many.
If you are in a position to contribute, no matter how big or small, your generosity will make a world of difference. And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this message to help spread the word.
Tony gave so much to his community — now is our time to give back to him and his family.
Thank you for your love, support, and kindness during this time of mourning.
