Anthony Nolan - Wimbledon Common Half Marathon
If you know me, you'll know I'm not really much of a runner. But I've slowly worked my way from couch to 5k to 10k and now I'm running the Wimbledon Common Half Marathon on Sunday 29th September! I'm as surprised by this as you are ...
My first attempt at a half-marathon, in March, was cancelled due to injury. So I'm excited to have a new event to train for.
I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be making a habit of long distance races, so I want to make this one count which is why I've chosen to run in aid of Anthony Nolan. I've been on their stem cell register for many years, and they supported my friend Simon recently when he had an autologous stem cell transplant.
If you don't already know about Anthony Nolan, they are an organisation that saves and improves the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
- By making lifesaving connections between patients and incredible strangers, ready to donate their stem cells.
- By funding ground-breaking research that could transform the future for more patients.
- By providing the best experience for every patient before, during and after transplant.
You can find our more about them here: https://www.anthonynolan.org/
Please support their great work by sponsoring me as I run. Thank you!
