5 years ago, Anthony and his wife Rachael received life altering news. Anthony, a diesel mechanic of 15 years and a loving father and husband, was diagnosed with stage 5 IaG nephropathy, or end-stage renal disease. They were told that dialysis or a kidney transplant were Anthony's only options to survive.
Three years ago, Anthony was faced with an impossible decision. He was forced to leave his career as a mechanic to pursue dialysis treatment. The life expectancy of someone with stage 5 IaG nephropathy is 5-10 years with dialysis.
For the last 3 years, Anthony has endured countless hours of discomfort and pain as he has underwent more than 468 dialysis treatments.
On July 3rd, 2025, Rachael and Anthony received a new glimmer of hope. After years of hard work and losing over 100lbs, Anthony was officially placed on the organ transplant list.
On the evening of December 3rd, Anthony received the call that a kidney that was a close match was available. On the morning of December 4th, Anthony underwent a kidney transplant in Tulsa.
While he is doing well, this has been an extremely difficult time for the Nofire family. Anthony needs a very high level of care and near constant transportation to and from appointments and specialists in Tulsa. Rachael will be off work for a while to help support Anthony in his recovery. This fund is to help the family with the ongoing costs of traveling to Tulsa several times a week, as well as living expenses while out of work. Every little bit helps!
