On that fateful evening of January 31, 2023, around 7 pm, AJ's life was tragically and violently stolen from us right in front of his mother's house. It began with a deceptive call from a so-called "friend," coaxing him outside to a parked car. Little did he know that this would be the last time he'd step out of his mother’s home. As he entered the car, an assailant emerged from the shadows of a nearby home, and a hail of bullets shattered the serenity of that evening. AJ's so-called "friend" heartlessly sped away, leaving him wounded and alone in the darkness.

The Detroit police continue to investigate, but justice remains elusive. There has been no precedent to charge the individual who fled the scene that night, leaving AJ's family grappling with the weight of injustice.

The tragedy becomes even more agonizing when we realize that AJ's two young daughters, aged just 2 and 3 at the time, were present and bore witness to this harrowing incident on their grandmother's doorstep. The trauma they endured that night is unimaginable, and our hearts ache not only for them but also for the family now navigating the uncharted waters of this incomprehensible loss.

We have come together to launch this GoFundMe campaign with a single, profound purpose: to honor AJ's memory, provide solace and support to his two precious daughters, and offer assistance to the ongoing investigation.
