Sadly, on 25th October, Anthony Gallagher passed peacefully at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Anthony — known affectionately as Mo Chara (“my friend”) to those closest to him — was a devoted husband to Emma, a proud dad to Xavier and Gus, and a proud grandad whose warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

He had a heart of gold and was always first to help others, never seeking recognition or reward. As a long-time member of the Brisbane Celtic Supporters Club, Anthony embodied the true spirit of friendship and community. One example of his kindness was when he personally funded the Club’s stubby coolers and donated all proceeds to The Kano Foundation — a simple gesture that summed him up perfectly: thoughtful, humble, and generous.

Anthony built lifelong friendships through his love of Celtic and his travels to conventions in Thailand and Las Vegas with his closest friend, Tony, where he was known and respected by supporters across the world. His presence, his humour, and his genuine nature left a lasting impression wherever he went.

This fundraiser has been created to help Anthony’s family through these tough times, allowing them to focus on celebrating Anthony’s life and finding peace in the days ahead. All funds raised will go directly to the Gallagher family.
