The Synopsis is as follows:

Set in a near-future where government systems are fully automated, Adjusted Gross follows Darius, an exhausted warehouse worker struggling to survive paycheck to paycheck. On tax day, a minor filing error flags him as a criminal—one cent short. What should be a simple correction instead triggers a nightmarish chain reaction inside an AI-run IRS that treats efficiency as justice and human lives as rounding errors.

As Darius desperately tries to reach a real person for help, an automated government enforcer—the Tax Deductor—is dispatched to collect the debt at any cost. While wealthy executives gamble and bureaucrats pass responsibility upward, Darius is hunted through his city by a system that refuses to listen, verify, or care.

Blending dark comedy with dystopian horror, Adjusted Gross is a satirical thriller about automated power, institutional indifference, and what happens when systems designed for “fairness” forget the people they’re meant to serve.
