I never had the pleasure to meet Anthony Carey Sr., but his son Tony is like a big brother to me. Tony has always personified the image of a protector and even though we are the same age and were in the same grade growing up, he always seemed to be watching over and protecting me. I really don't know why. I never felt like I did anything special for him, but I don't think he's ever looked at it that way. That's just who he is.

Tony's family has never had the easiest path, and now with the passing of his father, he has once again found himself down a lonely road. With hardships from Covid and the Holidays fast approaching, Tony and his family find themselves short on the resources they need to put his father to rest properly. Tony has begun to sell some of his possessions in an effort to help raise the necessary funds, and he is not the kind of guy to ask for charity. So, here I am, trying to repay the protector. I have prayed that Tony and his family would know the love of Christ, and now we have the opportunity to show that love to them. Through our acts of kindness we can show  Tony and his family that they are not alone, the lord has not abandoned them, and in fact, in their time of need their brothers and sisters were their to lift them up and carry their burdens.
