Anthony and Winona McGowan

Hi, we are a few mothers in Nashville who had the privilege of taking a care package to Anthony and Winona McGowan, who are staff members of Covenant.
Anthony has been working at Covenant for over 18 years as the facilities manager. His wife, Winona is the head of the cafeteria. Together they greeted us with warm hugs and grateful hearts. Anthony has been friends with victim Mike Hill since their school days, and hired him 14 years ago so they could work together. They were best friends, and more like family. Anthony and Winona have been devoted to their community of Covenant. They allowed us to pray with them, and I know that our visit meant a great deal as adrenaline is beginning to wear off and they try and move forward with fresh grief and true trauma to work through.. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow will all be a cloud of grief and confusion that they will try to continue to process and heal from. Their son, who also works at the school in the cafeteria with his mom, was also deeply affected. They shared with us how it was in the midnight hour you truly needed help. While the outpouring of love in our community has been incredible, as the media disperses, these are three brave souls will continue to be affected by what they went through for some time. Anthony sings the Lord’s Prayer at every Covenant graduation, and Mike has always been his biggest supporter in the balcony as a source of comfort for his nerves. They were partners for 14 years and friends long before, and I’m seeking funds to help pay for counseling for their family and help to pay their bills over these next months as they try and make sense of this horrific tragedy they endured. In no way will I benefit from this Go Fund Me, all proceeds will go to Anthony and Winona. There are some souls on this earth who God shines a special light through, and Anthony and Winona are two of them. What a privilege it was to just meet them.

Anthony and Winona are so grateful for all your love and support during this incredibly difficult time. They want all of you to know how truly appreciative they are for your help. This outpouring of love will provide a tremendous sense of support to them as they continue to heal. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all
