Before you read the story below please know the point of this go-fund is to alleviate the financial stress on my brother while he grieves the loss of his  10 month old puppy Daisy.

Hello everyone! This fundraiser is for my brother Anthony and his dog Daisy. My brother adopted his Samoyed puppy in April and couldn’t have been happier. He has always wanted a dog of his own and finally felt ready to bring one into his life. Daisy was a re-homed puppy who Anthony loved more than anything. He treated her like gold (I am pretty sure this dog ate better than I did!) Anything Daisy needed Anthony would do, no questions asked. His life quickly came to revolve around Daisy and making sure she was always taken care of in the best way possible.

Daisy was 10 months old. He originally noticed symptoms on the 31st and took her to the vet on the 2nd, where they did a urinary analysis and showed that she had a UTI. He thought that was all at that point. Over the week she quickly deteriorated and stopped eating completely. The vet was closed on the weekend so he took her in on Monday and that’s when they did bloodwork. They thought it was a bacterial infection of the kidneys called leptospirosis. They sent him to emergency care, where they did more blood work and found she had cancer. The type of cancer is called acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. It is an aggressive onset cancer and there was nothing that we could do, even with treatment she had maybe a month and her quality of life would be greatly reduced. Anthony then made the hardest decision of his life- to put Daisy down for her own well being.

This not only is an extremely stressful and emotional time, but extremely tough financially. For anyone who has ever had a sick animal you know treatment and vet visits are not cheap. Since Monday Anthony has spent close to 5 thousand dollars on vet visits, tests, oncology treatments, and medication to try and save Daisy in any way he could. And now he has to pay her her euthanasia and cremation as well.

We live in an unfair world where not only does your 10 month old healthy puppy get cancer out of no where, but where you also have to go into debt to get her the treatment she needs. He imagined having at least 10 years with Daisy, and he only got 7 months with her. For anyone that has lost a pet you know the pain is unimaginable- especially when its so sudden.

Please help alleviate some of the financial stress on my brother while he grieves the loss of his baby.
