Answers for Braxton

Braxton is a very strong and brave little boy. He is so full of life. It is so amazing to be able to watch him live life every day. Especially since he almost lost his life at barely a year old to heart failure. He is 3 now.Braxton has an enlarged heart. The muscle around his heart is too thick. He takes medicine daily to prevent him from going into heart failure again, but at the moment we know of nothing to fix this problem or the cause of it.
Let me give you some back story. Braxton has a brother in Heaven. He went to Heaven at 17 months old. He would have been 6 this past September. He also had an enlarged heart. We had no idea. He had a virus just like all the other kids at daycare. But the virus caused his heart to work too hard and he went into cardiac arrest. His body went to the ME. We buried our child with no answers as to why this happened to him. We found out 5 months later that his heart was too big. But no further testing could be done to find the reason why. Why is a question that I ask God and myself every single day.
After Braxton went into heart failure the doctors knew it was most likely hereditary. There was testing done for 1 possibility. That came back negative. We then got a letter from our medical insurance stating that they would not pay for any genetic testing. Both of his doctors have appealed. No luck though. They still refuse to pay anything.
Braxton has been accpeted to the Children's Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Center in Cincinnati , OH. There, he will receive further diagnosis and genetic testing. Once a reason has been found we can treat it more directly. We know our co-pay will be $100. Past that we are not sure yet. We have to travel from Oklahoma to Cincinatti in March 2016. The flights are pretty expensive and will continue to go up the closer it gets. We are asking for your help. Please help Braxton find some answers to be able to live his life to his full ability.
