Answers for Sherry

On Sunday June 11th, just 1 week prior to her 64th Birthday, heaven gained a beautiful new soul. My sister from another mother, a fierce mama bear to my niece and nephew, a loyal friend to so many, a daughter, a neighbor, but more than all those things she was someone who loved with her whole heart.

She was someone who would give you the shirt off her back or overdraw her account to give you her last few dollars. She was someone with a lead foot lol, she was smart, she was sarcastic and witty, she truly was one of a kind and will be deeply missed. She was someone we just talked to, someone we just had a celebration with, someone we just made plans with, so how was that the last hug, the last laugh, or the last I love you?

What happened to you? Why did this happen? Just a couple of the many questions that play over and over in our heads hoping for some explanation or sign that this nightmare will end. We don’t know, and sadly without answers there’s no peace.

Those of you who know Meagan and Jake know that they are no strangers to devastation and have been through more in their short lives than many of us have gone through in our lifetime. A difficult childhood, cancer, loss of their grandma are just a few of the many obstacles that they have had to overcome and now with the loss of their mom it just further cements in their thoughts of what did I do to deserve all this?

They say the Lord doesn’t give us any more than we can handle but just how much more do they need to go through?

We can help change this for them. We can help provide the answers for them, we can give them hope, and we can show them how much we care about them finding the peace they need to move forward. They can’t do it alone and no one should have to. Please be their village that they so desperately need right now.

No one should have to lose their mom and then struggle to pay for the necessities to honor her memory. Cremation costs, ceremony, reception, medical records, storage, and an autopsy are proving to be a heavy burden for them to bear. There are questions, lots of them about quality of care, could this have been prevented? They are ready to fight for what’s right but they are running out of time and need our help to put their minds at ease and provide justice for someone who no longer has a voice.
