Milton McKnight passed away suddenly on August 29, 2026, without life insurance, leaving our family facing unexpected funeral and financial expenses.

Because of the circumstances surrounding his passing, we are also seeking answers and taking steps to ensure his death is properly investigated. At the same time, we are fighting to preserve and protect the family home, which is a meaningful part of our family’s history and the legacy he worked so hard to build.

About Milton!

For over 35 years, Milton was a familiar and beloved presence in the heart of Downtown Orlando. Born in Philadelphia and living with cerebral palsy since childhood, Milton never allowed his disability to define what he could accomplish. Day after day, he made his way downtown, where generations of Orlando residents, police officers, business owners, workers and visitors came to know his smile, his faith, his determination and his love for people.

He moved to Orlando in 1988 and built a life here, first selling perfume, then flowers, greeting this same community day after day with warmth, faith and an unshakable positive spirit.

Through his work downtown, he provided for his family. He took care of his wife and children through determination, hard work and the generosity of a community that embraced him.

He taught all of us what perseverance looked like. He loved God, he loved his family and he truly loved the people of Orlando. His life showed that a person could face extraordinary physical limitations and still make an extraordinary impact on thousands of people.

Thank you, Orlando, for decades of friendship, support and kindness toward my father. You were his extended family and we are forever grateful. To the police officers who looked out for him, the Downtown businesses that welcomed him, the people who bought a flower or a drink, those who stopped simply to speak with him and everyone who showed our father kindness over the years, thank you.

Thank you for loving Milton, for protecting him, for supporting our family and for giving him a place in your heart. You were part of his life and he was proud to be part of yours.

His chair may no longer be in its familiar place Downtown, but Milton McKnight's legacy will remain in Orlando through his family and through every life he touched.
