This is our darling mum, Annie Crowther

In 1997, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, later advised to be Secondary Progressive MS, where your condition deteriorates over time.
Our mum spent 22 years in and out of hospital, sometimes for long periods of time and on one occasion over 12 months. She also spent a long period of time in residential care due to her needs being greater than we could help support with in the family home. Throughout these difficult periods, mum never lost that sparkle in her eye and her compassion for others.
We watched our darling mum fight for her life on many an occasion, defy the odds of Drs, trial medication after medication, and continue to fight against what we believed to be MS.
Our mum had to surrender her driving license, give up work, and adapt to a disability that meant learning how to man-oeuvre through life differently. She took this all in her stride, continuing through with the most amazing strength we have seen.
She never once questioned why me? She never faltered. Our mum had the biggest heart, the most caring soul, and the greatest compassion and empathy. She would draw strangers in with her aura and energy, and had such a spark about her.

On November 29th 2019, our world shattered around us when our darling mum passed away suddenly.
Nearly 2 years later, we are still waiting for her cause of death to be determined, and a post-mortem raised so many questions - some that we aren't able to discuss yet.
In November of this year (2021), we will be going to an Inquest where mum's death, and life, will be discussed to ascertain if a cause of death can be determined.
One thing that we have learned and the preliminary findings however, is that mum never had Multiple Sclerosis...learning this has turned our world upside down again.

After seeking legal advise surrounding the circumstances, we want to instruct a solicitor to represent our mum at the inquest, to help us with the questions we have, to establish what happened, and to seek answers and justice for our gorgeous mum, and ensure all avenues are explored.

We are asking for support to instruct a solicitor, as we are unable to access one through legal aid, and we are not in the financial position to fund this ourselves. We are hopeful that we will be able to request the costings back, and make a donation in memory of our mum, towards the research in understanding MS, so that no others need to go through this.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Annie, Jen, Sabrina and Leigh - her children
