Dear Child of God,
As you may know this year is the Jubilee, a Holy Year rooted in Scripture and tradition. It used to happen every 50 years, but is now happening every 25 years to allow the opportunity for each generation to take part of at least one Holy Year. This is a time dedicated to Forgiveness, Renewal and Extraordinary Grace and Mercy. A time to invite the faithful to deepen its relationship with God, receive special indulgences and undertake pilgrimages, especially to Rome.
What do you do during the Jubilee you may ask? Go through one of the Holy Doors at certain basilicas usually sealed by mortar and cement, symbolizing passing from sin to grace and a fresh start in one's spiritual life. Do a pilgrimage to Rome or other Holy sites as a sign of repentance and devotion. Receive the Jubilee plenary indulgence, where pilgrims must go to confession, receive Holy Communion and go through one of the Holy Doors. Have a spiritual renewal by praying, performing acts of charity and mercy, go to confession and mass and professing one's faith.
I first received the call from Jesus to go to Italy in October and I immediately said yes. I planned in how the upcoming months would happen until the trip, I even had plan b,c,d and e, just in case. What was not planned was for all of them to fail... (womp, womp, womp). Fortunately, I'm not a person that gives up easily, therefore I came up with plan f, support raising. Relying on God's providence through the Christian community, like the Apostles when sent on mission. Alligning with the theme of "Pilgrims of Hope", where a pilgrim walks in faith, not alwalys knowing the full path ahead, is vulnerable, but trusts in God's providence and is transformed by the journey, not just the destination and where hope looks forward with courage, joy and endurance.
I can't want to meet Him there and experience the fullness of what He has in store for me
