⚾ Help Restore Ansin Park in Fitchburg, MA

For generations, Ansin Park—lovingly known as “Little Fenway”—has been where kids first fell in love with baseball. It’s where parents cheered from the bleachers, volunteers raked the infield by hand, and lifelong memories were made.

Today, this beloved field needs our help. Years of weather and lack of use have taken their toll, and we’re raising funds to restore Ansin Park as a safe, vibrant home for Fitchburg’s youth baseball and softball players.

What Needs to Be Done

Much of the facility needs repair and revitalization. Our top priorities include:

Fencing & Backstop Repairs: The fallen backstop has been removed, but many fence posts are lifted and need to be reset. New fence toppers and general fence repairs are also needed to improve safety and appearance. (This is not an all-inclusive list.)

Batting Cage Restoration: While the fallen tree has been cleared, the metal poles supporting the netting remain damaged. The telephone poles that hold the cables for the netting are leaning and need adjustment before the cage can safely be used again.

Concession Stand Upgrades: Significant interior work is needed to make the stand ready to serve food, including new refrigeration, electrical and ceiling repairs, cabinetry updates, and other vital improvements.

Dugout Improvements: The benches need concrete work, and the surrounding wood structures require repairs and fresh paint to ensure safety and longevity.

Field Restoration: The playing surface needs major attention to remove weeds and grubs and restore the lush grass that once made this field shine.

Ansin Park isn’t just a field — it’s a piece of Fitchburg’s history. Built decades ago with the help of the Ansin family, it’s hosted generations of players and fans. Restoring it honors that legacy while ensuring future players have a safe, beautiful place to play the game we love.
