Help Rami get Respiratory Illness Veterinary care!

This is for critically needed on-going care.
Please consider donating to help Rami cover his vet bills.

Rami is a rescued bengal cat, barely 1 year of age.
On April 18th Rami began having severe breathing problems. He was rushed to the animal hospital, where he received emergency services. He had to go to the animal ER 3 times within one week to receive critically needed emergency medical treatment. He had to be stabilized and was in respiratory crisis, needing to be treated with oxygen and multiple rescue medications each time.

Initially, he was diagnosed with feline bronchitis/asthma, but he isn't responding to asthma treatments appropriately at home. Some of the medications have made his condition worse and caused heart problems. By the 3rd Emergency Department trip, he was referred to an Internal Medicine veterinary specialist. The emergency medicine vet stated he will likely need an echocardiogram and may require a bronchoscope procedure with a Tracheal Wash. Internal medicine specialists deal with complex respiratory cases and sometimes refer their patients to veterinarian cardiologists for care.

Rami was seen by an internal medicine veterinarian specialist already, due to a lucky appointment opening. The costs are adding up; we spent over $1750 USD the first week, from the emergency veterinary care costs. It had to be put on care credit.

Rami provides much needed emotional support for his human with PTSD, Autism, and a physical disability which has caused multiple on-going medical problems. Consequently, Rami's owner is financially strained.

He was not yet 1-year-old when this began. Rami's human is trying to provide him the care he is in critical need of. We just want to get him the help he needs to keep going, and feel his best again.
Thus far Rami has received care at Bulger animal hospital in Lawrence MA, as well as Port City animal hospital in Portsmouth NH.

After going to the first internal medicine appointment the vet specialist ordered a few tests. Kindly people helped cover the $203 internal medicine appointment fee. The estimate for the following appointment to perform these tests could be around $1100. The specialist may perform an additional test that same day, which may amount to at least $300 more. (The specialist felt more tests were required after hearing about how Rami has been doing. He added more to the plan, which raised the quote, as seen in an update). *This appointment is on 5/9/2022*
He still isn't breathing normally. He has not breathed normally all of this time, and almost was admitted to the animal hospital. These tests are necessary. The specialist ordered an echocardiogram, a consult with cardiology, and some blood work. A PCR test may additionally be performed the same day.  The internal medicine vet suspects it is not solely asthma causing his problems. They need to perform more testing to make a diagnosis. After those results, we may know what the appropriate treatment is, or he may require additional tests or procedures. It is vital to his well-being.
We are trying to be conservative for both the sake of Rami, and our wallets. However, as it goes without saying- we cannot leave him without the medical care he needs to stay alive.

It has been an incredibly continuously stressful experience for all humans and felines involved!

Unfortunately vet care is expensive. Rami will require on-going care.
Rami's owners feel confident they can manage his care long term, once getting over this bump in the road.

Every single cent will be going directly towards covering the costs of upcoming vet bills and meeting his medical needs, from future appointments, to future tests, procedures, and medications or treatments.

Rami's human is grateful for the help, and plans to pay it forward in the future to other cats or dogs in need.
