Personal Story & VISION

My name is Jacque’ Scott, I’m a 29 year old entrepreneur based in Philadelphia. In my community I have become a role model to not only females but males who are starving artists, students, athletes etc. They believe in what I’m doing so much that they are now putting their dreams first despite how crazy the world portrays it to be.  I displayed such endurance after hardships that most people thought I would have been given up on the third month of recovery but I didn’t accept defeat.  Here I am still standing after a traumatic brain injury from car accident ejected 20ft  in July 2014.  Most people couldn’t believe that I was actually going through with it still and did for this long. Every day I prove a doubter wrong when I turn on my clippers and create beautiful art for weddings, business meetings, proms and so many more precious moments. Even seeing mine flash before me all at once that night only made me stronger and least likely to fail. I do this for my clients primarily because without them I cannot be a barber, they are like blood to my veins. I will say that I have been blessed with such loyal clients, some as far back as 8 years and I only want to open my heart up to more, and I will... with the world on my team.

December 10th 1989, I was born in Camden County, New Jersey where I received most of my childhood education. From the ripe age of five, my surroundings, such as teachers and family, noticed my eye for art. It all began by doodling on walls to making homemade holiday cards. Growing up, my desire to draw opened up a lot of opportunities for me, such as advanced placement art classes & graphic designing  to make clothing for my peers. I noticed my ability to customize teams, logos, and cartoon characters and  made a little living as a freshman in high school. Once I saw that I could make profit off of a talent, the love I had for art grew immensely.

Sophomore and junior year in high school, I took art to another level and started lining up my hair-line. I had hair down to my mid-back and always kept it braided to give it that extra sharp look, I used hair color liners to define my look. After graduation in 2008, I decided to cut my hair off.  I couldn’t find a barber to give me the look I desired, so I decided to purchase clippers and cut my own hair.

It was a learning experience, but I learned from my errors and continued to get better. One day I was asked, “Are you a Barber?” I looked back and said “No, I play basketball”. I was shocked because that was the first time I was asked that question. At this time, I was working in the warehouse sector, but I decided I needed a new career. My close friend, Ceci, suggested cutting hair. Ceci worked in a barbershop, and the next day she took me to the shop to interview. I brought my little brother, Jerome, as my test model, and I got the job! But, I needed to get my license and education.

In January of 2011, I attended Empire Beauty School in southern New Jersey and then obtained my professional barbering license in Philadelphia in 2013. I’ve been cutting multi-cultural hair for the past decade .  I ’m a multi- award winning celebrity barber from competing in national barber competitions. I have cut the "CHAMPS" Philadelphia Eagles’ Coach Todd Lyght and his son, Demeco Ryans, Curtis Marsh, Monte Simmons, Vinny Curry, and Mychal Kendricks. Former New England Patriot, Anothny Williams & World CHAMP in  Soccer, Justin Marrow have also  sat in my chair.  To take it back a bit, I was the only female barber at Philadelphia's Fashion Week 2015 & was featured on Philadelphia's First Barber Competition Show, "Making the Barber" Sept. 2016  I’m beyond passionate about this craft. This is not just a business to me; it’s a way of life.

At Empire Beauty School I got involved in a campus competition of students to make first rounds to compete against other students from all over the nation at the Empire Beauty School Future Professionals Expo! I won & was placed in Men’s cut category for my school in Laurel Springs, NJ & got my ticket to go to Hershey Park to take my first competitive platform step in my career. There were 100 barbers in the Men's Cut category. I didn’t win first place but I placed top 10! The experience was inspiring & educating. The things other students could do wowed me and only made me more interested in developing my own craft motivating me to compete more and receive two more awards in the upcoming years. The 2nd award was for a hair design battle category in Philadelphia, PA. The most recent 3rd award I received was on Feb. 5th 2017 in Atlantic City, NJ for fade & beard category. Note: These events intricately judged and scored for exposure, recognition, prizes & awards.

Now I am at a good stage in my 29 years of life & I am NOT done. After successfully renovating the brick & mortar into my science fictional vision this Summer 2018, I plan to have a the first mobile barber shop called Another Planet Barber Shuttle “Brings the shop to You” The shuttle will be converted into a barbershop on wheels. You order it from online & the shuttle will pull up, you hop on get your haircut & hop off then the shuttle will go to its next appointment. It will also be posted at variest locations & events in the city of Philadelphia such as Made in America, Roots Picnic & July 4th Jam! This concept will be similar to the food trucks you see here in Philly but instead of cheesesteaks & ice cream you'll get a Celebrity Barber Quality Haircut! While catching those last minute clients before the fun the shuttle is a constant moving billboard for the brick & mortar experience.

CHARITY:
Another Planet Barber Shuttle will also be a major giving back platform for establishment like Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Ronald McDonald House, Salvation Army & other people in need at multiple homeless & rehabilitation centers. In addition to creating multiple streams of income & giving back, I want to open up a barbering school in Philadelphia, PA -Another Planet Barber Academy, LLC Where here will reside the same science fictional concept as previously stated but now with half-priced (monitored) student haircuts. Here will give students the real life momentum  & affordable minimum payment options behind learning from high caliber hand-picked student teachers. Following I want to make Another Planet Barber Shop, LLC a franchise, next two locations in New York and in my hometown Sicklerville, New Jersey.

Another Planet Barber Shop, LLC

Another Planet Barber Shop, LLC (APBSLLC) is a full service, non-conforming establishment. We are looking for a few good clients who are ready to explore new worlds. We recognize that the best way to showcase our own talents is by showcasing our clients sporting our Sci-Fi fantasy styles and other services.  Our futuristic styles are for a select list of clients who won’t settle for the ordinary. We firmly believe that our clients’ hairstyles are an accessory to the person’s personality and should be more than just a cut. A good haircut should penetrate minds and create bonds and fan desires for the people in the customer’s life and from strangers on the street.

We Are Different and We Target A Different Market

If you could imagine that you are our company’s only barber. You find yourself behind the chair of your prospective customer. The customer has the magical power to make you disappear in an instant. Will you connect with your customer before they vaporize you or will you be invited to cut their hair? We tell our job applicants: “If you don’t want to differentiate your barbering style, we can recommend another shop for you to apply.”

2019 Goal

In addition to the new location, we are working toward a feet-on-the-ground strategy with your head-in-the clouds creativity. If people like that concept, I invite them to make contact with Another Planet Barber Shop, LLC. NOW HIRING! I am working to find FOUR ELITE quality licensed contractors: barbers/stylists to go on this journey into space with me.

If my philosophy strikes a chord, I hope you will take a look at the work displayed in my portfolio. You’ll find that variety is my hallmark. Every client is unique, and I simply do not offer “cookie cutter” solutions.

Mission: To provide the general population in the Philadelphia area with magazine ready haircuts from out of this world.

Values:

• Clients (Stars): Are the force driving the shop, so their satisfaction is our top priority.

• Clean Atmosphere:  Modern and convenient hand dryers will be installed & to minimize the use of trash bags “Eye Vac’s” will be posted by every station- a portable machine with wheels that will suck debris right up off the operating floor while the iRobot Roomba vacuums hourly throughout the shop. Electronic handling will reduce paper use and cost.

Business Description:

APBS is not your typical, mundane barbershop; on arrival customers are hit with Sci-Fi fantasy twists!  Hairstyles that are ready to wow the world one city at a time! This business will take off like a NASA shuttle leaving earth’s atmosphere into the endless opportune boundaries of space!  This is our business genre and what sets us apart from other shops.

Business is all about supply and demand; there are so few shops that supply the artists needed to create the sophisticated-cuts that a huge number of patrons are looking for. Our marketing will be directed at these individuals.  Another Planet Barber Shop can help people looking for an opportunity to artistically create the personality and appearance that speaks to the image they so desire.

These fantasy cuts are fun and generate an enormous audience for the non-conforming individual.  The cuts in combination with color can create a wow-factor that screams “look-at-me! You can see I’m different.”

APBS is anxious to become the Top Gun when it comes to Sci-fi cuts and colors in Philadelphia.   All of our APBS barbers want to come together to catapult this business to the forefront of Sci-Fi fantasy cuts in the area.  Our barber-team knows that each of us carry the same responsibility toward growing the business and satisfying our customers.

2014 I have started a brand that not even the atmosphere can contain, because it is out of this world. Another Planet Barber Shop, LLC! Will be launching into the next orbit soon, you dont want to miss this shuttle!
