Assalāmu'alaykum warahmatullāhi wabarakātuhu Brothers and Sisters

This is a humble request to all of you to help fund the purchase of a bar that is located adjacent to our masjid. We have high hopes that Allah will accept our efforts and give us the ability to make this a means of goodness for the masjid and community. Below, I have quoted a message from the masjid board that provides details towards the mission. I am counting on each and everyone of you to help in this cause and insha'Allah through our humble actions we can build our Jannah together.

"Our community of Masjid Al-Rahman in Richmond, CA is being presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Since our masjid was founded 27 years ago, we have endured the pain of having a bar less than 100 feet from the walls of our Musallah (prayer area) and the consequences that come with it. From screaming and cursing, drunks, to loud inappropriate music during Salah. From fighting to reckless property damage. On numerous occasions, drunk drivers have crashed into the masjid, damaging gates and walls and causing thousands of dollars of damage. A few years ago, we even witnessed a shooting only feet away from our windows minutes before Isha salah. Congregants walk home in fear passing that direction because of the obscene behavior of the bar’s patrons. We have long hoped and prayed to be able eliminate this evil from our backyard. Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed us with that long-awaited opportunity. The property has been listed for sale and we need your support to purify the area surrounding His House.

Upon becoming aware of the property sale, we contacted the agent and after consultation, we made an offer. Though there were many other offers, some as high as $100k above the asking price, it was Allah's Will that the selling agent accepted our offer. The property was listed for $595k, and our offer of $610k was accepted. Though the offer still needs to be approved by the judiciary court, we have the utmost hope in Allah that He will assist us in this process.

We hope that this property, once a place hated by Allah, transforms into a place He loves and our entire community is able to benefit from. During a community meeting and follow-up discussions, we received overwhelming support to purchase the property. We need your help, first and foremost with your Duas. Please ask Allah to accept our effort to purify the area around His House. Secondly, we need you to spread the word and share our campaign with everyone and anyone you know. And lastly, we will be entirely grateful for any donation that you can make in helping us meet our fundraising goal."
