Another Round, Another Fight

In 2005 I was diagnosed with Stage IV Breast Cancer and had 14 active bone tumors. I was given 3 to 6 months to live.
Through the years I have had multiple radiation, chemo, surgeries and hormone therapies due to new metastatic turmors in the breast,bone and liver. But I have always tried to fight the good fight.
During all of this I continued to pursue God's purpose and created a 2nd Act for myself. I co-founded Open Wings of Hope, with my Best Friend. Open Wings of Hope is a guide to help newly diagnosed patients understand why and how to keep their medical records, and be empowered along their cancer journey.
In 2014 a group of friends and fellow survivors co-founded Cancer Survivors Circle of Strength. www.azcscs.org Circle of Strength is a volunteer community that helps other cancer related organizations with their volunteer needs. This year we are piloting a new program to provide peer to peer support to newly diagnosed cancer patients. This is near and dear to my heart and I believe my true purpose. To give HOPE to others with this disease. To let them know that 3 months can be 12 years with the right attitude, faith and treatment.
Both have been meaningful and impactful to not only myself, but also to the community.
And now I am in another round, another fight. May 1, 2017, almost 12 years from my initial diagnosis, I have active agressive metastatic bone disease again. The right side of my body is being assaulted. My right shoulder, right rib cage, right hip and right thigh is under attack by the growing cancer cells.
My estimated cost, not covered by insurance, over the next six months is $4200. I am reaching out to friends and family for prayers and financial assistance. I believe God will see his purpose for my life through till the end. I also believe that we are not there yet!
I ask each of you to reach deep into your hearts and provide whatever you feel comfortable with to help me raise this money. I know we are all struggling financially, but every little bit will help.
The rewards will come to each of us. Please feel confident with the knowledge that I will continue to fight. Praying this is the Knock-Out round against cancer for me!!
