Hello!
My name is Ashley. I’m an avid dog lover, and digital marketing copywriter. I’ve worked with a slew of national brands, and have made scrolling second nature. That’s why one night, I was doing my usual doomscrolling when I landed on a TikTok of Timmy. A handsome one-year-old pitty that was running out of time.
You see, Timmy is one of thousands of dogs who are neglected and left to fend for themselves. He was picked up with his brother as a stray and placed with Dallas Animal Services. Unfortunately, unlike what we spoiled 585 locals have with Lollypop Farm, DAS doesn’t have the funds or bandwidth to care for a lot of these animals in need and they’re forced to put them on euthanasia lists because they simply can’t handle the volume these dogs are being found. Timmy was set for euthanasia on 7/11/25 because of his health issues.
This little gentle giant is barely one and tested positive for heart worm, suffers from hip dysplasia, spondylosis, and — as if the rest wasn’t enough — he needs to see a neurologist to see what’s going on with his spine and hind legs. I don’t know what came over me, but two days after seeing the initial TikTok, I found myself constantly going back to his video for updates. I think a lot of us do that. We see a cute animal in an emergency situation and check to see if there are any updates. And most of the time there are, however, there was no pinned comment.
Don’t get me wrong, there was plenty of engagement from people trying to boost the post, but none of them said, “UPDATE: ADOPTION IN PROGRESS.” So I did the unthinkable and reached out. What could it hurt? Within hours, a charismatic adoption counselor called me to go over Timmy’s history. “Had I read his bio?” Yes. “Was I able to take on a dog with so many health problems?” No clue. “You can’t save them all,” he said. And that’s the truth. I’m the first person to say that everything happens for a reason. But I had to try for Timmy.
I sent his records to our vet and the next day, she called me. “It’s a lot,” she said. “But it’s doable. Let’s just see. Let’s tackle one thing at a time.” So that’s what I’m doing (or trying to do)! Timmy is going to need a lot of care and love, and that’s going to come at high vet bills. Between wellness checks, state transportation (did I mention my boy is coming to me from Texas? Hopefully, he doesn’t mind that I’m a yankee) heart worm treatment, an MRI, and a possible spinal surgery, I want to give this boy a fighting chance.
I realize we’re in the worst job market and not everyone has disposable incomes. Trust me, I was raised by a single mom and I GET IT! But I believe in the power of community. And I believe in Timmy. I will be covering all of his costs, but any amount is appreciated.
Timmy will be well cared for and so loved. Thank you for taking the time to read this and donate. I will post updates along the way and bring you along this wild journey.
