For those who know my stepfather, know that he has a history of a benign brain tumor going back decades. During a routine MRI to checkout this tumor – the doctors discovered a new tumor and upon many tests, analysis and biopsies, they confirmed that he has

PCNSL or Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma

aka Brain Cancer.

This happened early in January this year.

Anoop was admitted to hospital soon after his diagnosis and has spent 75% of his time in hospital undergoing tests and biposies followed by extremely strong and harsh chemotherapy. In this time he has lost nearly 40 kilos. His weight loss is so bad he is not able to walk without support from wheelies and climb stairs. On top of this he has all the side effects of chemotherapy, nerve damage, hair loss, nausea, chemo brain, confusion, muscle weakness. He spends most of his time in bed and this make things worse. His chemo continues and soon he will start Stem Cell treatment or Radiation which is another hardship he still has to go through.

After all the treatment it will be a long road to recovery. In the meantime, his bills are piling up but he wont say anything but i know and can see it in the house. The family has ZERO income at the moment with medical bills still coming through and more to come, household expenses piling up and my brothers education with his new college. I have had to move from Melbourne and my mother had to shut down her business to provide Anoop with full time care.

I am putting up this page and will try and circulate it amongst people I can connect with, his family, friends, acquaintances and well wishers. Perhaps we can all put together some resources to help them cope during this troubled period of their lives.

I know him – he has helped a lot of people in his lifetime – maybe it is time for us to return the favour.
