Annual Function at Orphanage School
Donation protected
Hi. My name is John and I’m fundraising for an orphanage school in India. It’s called the Rama Devi School, and it’s been offering a home and education for orphaned and disadvantaged girls for the past 40 years.
This year, times are tough. Money is tight and the director, a big-hearted saint named Swati, was considering cancelling the annual function at the end of the school year. This event is usually a party, honoring the new graduates and the best students in each class. They have music, special food, and a chance to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another. For the 375 girls they care for, it’s a special day on the calendar.
It costs $1700 to throw a party for 400 students and staff which seems like a bargain to me. $4.25 per person to make memories for children who don’t get many parties in life. Here's a breakdown:
Lights and Sound: 12,000 Rs = $140
Tent: 18,000 Rs = $210
Flower Decorations: 10,000 Rs = $117
Chitralaya: 15,000 Rs = $175
Instruments: 6000 Rs = $70
Food: 40,000 Rs = $467
Prizes: 25,000 Rs = $292
Awards: 8000 Rs = $93
Miscelaneous: 7,000 Rs = $82
Total: 1,41,000 Rs = $1646
($54 is added for platform fees and the cost of bank transfers bringing us to $1700.)
I’m hoping we can all surprise Swati and the girls with this gift. I can tell you 100% of this money will be transferred to her and the PUSS team, and I’ll report back with photos from the event. Look at the beautiful smiles on some of these kids in the attached photos and let’s give them another reason to be happy.
Thanks for considering this. If you have any questions, please reach out and let me know.
