2023 Fundraiser for the Sol y Luna School, Peru

The focus of the 2023 annual fundraiser for the Sol y Luna School is nutrition and mental health.

The total annual budget of £60,000 ($75,000 USD) covers:

- Two daily balanced and healthy meals - breakfast and lunch - for 201 people (155 students, 43 members of staff, 3 volunteers)

- Psychological support for the children

The Sol y Luna school provides education as well as psychological and nutritional care to some of the most vulnerable children in Peru.

With your support, we take these children on a journey that helps them grow into young adults who can dream and work towards a better future, for themselves and their families.

The total annual budget for nutrition and mental well-being at the Sol y Luna School is £60,000 ($75,000 USD).

The Sol y Luna Nutrition Programme for the 2023 academic year covers the costs of feeding over 200 people (members of staff and students) and the salaries of 5 members of staff at the Sol y Luna Canteen.

Total: £40,000 / $50,000 USD

The Programme for Mental Health Support includes the salaries of two psychologists, plus corresponding supplies for the 2023 academic year.

Total: £20,000 / $25,000 USD

The Sol y Luna Intercultural School educates disadvantaged children in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Founded in 2009, the Sol y Luna School provides education from kindergarten to 17 years of age.

There are currently 155 students from 20 different communities in the surrounding area. Many of the students come from very remote areas, so they stay in foster homes from Monday to Friday.
