Annual 7-day HBCU College Tour

Donation protected
Greetings,

My name is Carlos Walton and in 1997 I facilitated my very first HBCU College Tour. Since then, I haven’t missed a year outside of the ones dictated by the restrictions of the pandemic. For over 25 years I have spearheaded efforts to service young people through my Manhood Training Program, Mentoring Program, College Prep Workshop Series, College Tours, and Educational Excursions. Growing4ward focuses on students from all over the country, but we have a passion for young people from low-income and underserved communities. We show up for these students no matter the circumstance. It’s essential that they know that if no one else has their back, we do.

Growing4ward works to elevate young people through the practice of exposure, which is maximized in the best way through our Annual 7-day HBCU College Tour. This experience enlightens, empowers, and motivates every young person on the bus to do better, and be better as they work to elevate to higher heights.

Our goal is to have all students in attendance, use their experience, combined with the information gathered from the colleges, and the College Tour, and begin to be more strategic in their choices, elevate their sense of pride, and begin the work to solidify their place as productive members of their communities, and beyond. Seniors will even have access to onsite acceptances that can completely change their trajectory.

Our HBCU College Tour, for over 25 years, has been nothing less than transformative. We’ve changed lives and provided experiences some participants never knew were possible. This year we’re at it again and we leave from Sunday, April 9th to Saturday, April 15th and we are asking for your support. All donations will be used to help students get on the bus, and help us provide a brain-staining experience.

Visit our website at https://www.growing4ward.org/ to learn more, and please help us make something powerful happen for our young people. We’re planning for 40 students and 12 chaperones. Your support is needed and truly appreciated.
