Anyone who knows the Annoyance Theatre in Chicago knows we're not afraid of anything.
From our alternative shows and original musicals to naked improv and live drag, we imprint our "fuck it" attitude on everything we touch.
But right now, we are afraid. We're not only concerned for the health and safety of our staff, directors, performers & students during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also for the well-being of our audiences & patrons.
In response, we have closed our doors indefinitely.
You can help us guarantee that the doors to our theatre will not close forever.
HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO
Help us keep our doors open by locking us in!
The Annoyance has hand-selected some of its top performers to be quarantined within the walls of the theatre for 10 DAYS--no one leaves, no one enters. You'll be able to watch this team of brave comedians living their daily lives, rehearsing, eating, crying, singing, dancing, falling asleep in random places & slowly losing their minds. Using Facebook, Twitch, Periscope, Youtube & Vimeo, the Annoyance Theatre "QuaranTeam" will broadcast the true nature of what it's like to lock yourself inside during a pandemic. During this quarantine period, the artists will undergo an intense collaborative process where they will write & produce an original show to be live-streamed at the end of the holding period. The show is to be directed by Mick Napier.
Our mission? It's simple. Use this time of COVID-19 quarantine to invest in a unique, inspired, artistic & social experiment in an effort to save ourselves from the virus and the Annoyance Theatre from closing permanently. The final product will be a show for YOU, our supporters.

Your contribution will be used to:
☞ Continue to pay the staff of the Annoyance while we’re closed-most of us live paycheck to paycheck, and this is a scary time to be without income.
☞ Sustain this 10-day quarantine (food, water, cleaning supplies, technology for live-streaming, hand sanitizer, etc.)
☞ Keep the Annoyance Theatre open & operational beyond this crisis, providing the Chicago community with classes, workshops, and live theater
☞ Properly clean and provide maintenance to our facility for your future safety
☞ Carry on a 30+ year legacy of some of the city's finest & funniest comedy
The Annoyance Theatre is a home for artists, performers, musicians, improvisers, creators, collaborators, and people who need a place to be themselves. Please help us continue to be a safe place for those who need it & a creative space for those who want it.
