Annmarie Ernest Memorial Fundraiser

On the morning of Thursday, October 1st, 2020, Annmarie Ernest, mother of two and grandmother of two, passed away at the age of 51.

Ann (never “Annie” except to her sisters) was born Annmarie White on March 14th, 1969 in Livermore, CA. She moved to Washington State where she met her husband Richard Ernest while working at the Royal Inn restaurant in Bonney Lake. They were married Ann’s 21st birthday until Richard Ernest passed away in 2008. They had their first son, Kevin, in 1990. They welcomed their second child Kayla in April 1993.

Annmarie was born to be a grandma. When Carson came along as her first grandson via Kayla and Cameron Long, she fell absolutely in love. Carson was her life and joy. Annmarie was a great mom, but she was a terrific grandmother. When she got the cancer diagnosis and was starting the treatment process she said, “Sometimes the only thing you can do is try.” She fought through the whole painful process of radiation and chemotherapy and celebrated finishing her treatment by holding her newborn granddaughter, Ellie.

This fundraiser is to pay for her cremation and memorial costs. The goal is to raise enough money to bury Annmarie and her husband Richard in the Forest Walk at Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn, WA. Ann asked that, after she passed, she would be buried with her husband. She also always said that having a biodegradable urn with a tree planted above would be really special. So, we are going to try and fulfill her wishes.

The cost breakout is an estimate of the cemetery costs plus the cost of cremation.

Cremation-1000 Dollars
Cemetery Memorial-7000 Dollars (estimate) which includes a medium polished boulder headstone because the two names need to be on it. It also includes the cost of a small tree, such as a Japanese Maple, planted at the sight.

If we don't quite reach our goals, we can modify some of the "fancier" elements to this memorial. As she said, "sometimes the only thing you can do is try." Anything raised above the goal or if the price is less than estimated, extra funds will be donated to the Glioblastoma Research Foundation.
