Hi, my name is Ajaa. I never thought that we would be in this place but, here we are.

Our mother is the strongest woman we know. A single mother of 8, she has spent her entire life giving, loving, supporting, and uplifting everyone around her. She has always found a way to “make it happen” no matter the challenge. From starting small businesses to becoming a foster parent (and eventually adopting our youngest sibling), her heart has always been open to those in need.

She didn’t just raise us she raised whole communities. Friends, extended family, and even strangers quickly became part of our family once they stepped into her home. Whether someone needed a warm meal, a place to stay, or just a shoulder to lean on, our mother was there. No questions asked.

She is now a proud grandmother to over 20 grandchildren who absolutely adore her. They cherish every moment with her from the big adventures to the simple joys like trips to the candy store. Her presence is joy. Her love is unmatched. Her spirit is unforgettable.

But now, our mother needs us.

Recently, she suffered a stroke that has left her with a long road to recovery. She currently lives alone with her three beloved dogs, and recovery will require home care nurses, physical therapy, and ongoing medication. As anyone who has faced a medical crisis knows, the costs add up quickly and they are beyond what she or we can manage alone.

After a lifetime of being a caretaker, it’s our turn to care for her.
