Annie Gunselman, a retired high school English teacher and volleyball coach at Heritage Hills High School in Lincoln City, Indiana, passed away on September 28, 2019.
On June 19, 2018, two weeks after retiring from a lifetime career in education, Annie was diagnosed with stage four renal cell carcinoma.
In her free time, Annie volunteered with the Spencer County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, helping young people who have cases within the DCS system.
Annie did not care for memorial flowers and gifts and her family has established a memorial fund with Freedom Bank in Dale, Indiana, in order to provide scholarships and financial assistance to young people, predominantly those in the foster system and CASA program. We are asking that people consider donating to the fund in lieu of flowers and gifts in order to establish a lasting legacy for Annie.
