Hi everyone my name is Sue,
All of the pictures you have enjoyed here are the faces of my daughter Ani's wonderfully free & beautiful personality.
Ani is 37 years old & was born with 3 congenital heart defects that have led to many surgeries & unfortunate medical complications, including loosing hearing in her right ear at the age of 9 & multiple long term stays at Childrens Hospital in Chicago for infections that attacked her heart.
Ani has had her Aortic valve replaced 4 times.
Anis last Aortic replacement was accomplished by using a homograft back in 1999 & were told would last 15 years before another surgery was needed. It has now been 17 years and failing fast.
Ani went into congestive heart failure before there was a determination made by a myriad of medical professionals whether she could withstand a TAVRS (a less invasive procedure) or if she would have to have another open heart.
There was a determination made Monday 06-06-2016.
Ani will be having her 5th open heart, with added unforseen complications, including right sided heart, a psuedo aneurysm, & pulminary hypertension.
Ani is having her surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN due to her specific & complex complications, nobody in Arizona would touch her. These include the possibility of needing a heart-lung transplant, depending on how the procedure goes, which can't be determined until the time of surgery. We have no idea at this time, how long this hospitalization will be , but do know that being so far from home, the expenses will be prohibitive.
Ani has not been able to work for the last several monthsdue to her condition & has no disability. She has recently applied for SSD, but we all know that could take several years. Like all insurances there is a great deal that will need to be paid for. Ani & her lovely wife Emily have recently purchased a home in Phoenix. They are truly sad about the prospect of loosing their home, but are realistic about priorities.
Ani has lived her entire life helping others via massage therapy while respecting the earth & living life to the fullest.
Ani needs generosity & assistance to be able to live, pay astronamical medical bills, & keep her home.
I have been a RN for 30 years & have been honored to care for my patients. I treat each patient as if they were my daughter. I know what gratitude feels like, I don't have the words to explain my thoughts, fears, & my THANKFULNESS. So I will just use these simple words that are heart felt. Thank you.
