Anni and Michael Retirement Fund

We are fundraising for our beloved Aunt Anni and Uncle Michael.

You will not meet more generous souls than Anni and Michael. Anni is close to 80 and Michael is right behind her; they have worked tirelessly their entire lives in one of the most expensive areas of the country and have never had enough to build a strong retirement. We want to help them be able to get off their feet and finally retire. It’s time!

Here is their plan:

They need to sell their house in Richmond, CA and move somewhere with much more affordable cost of living. After a lot of research, they have identified an area in Portugal where they can afford to buy a house outright with no mortgage; their medical expenses will be cheaper; and they can live close to a hospital, bus services, shopping, and other things they need so they won’t have to have a car. The climate is similar to what they’re used to, and they’ll be able to live frugally on their Social Security for the rest of their lives. They'll be able to lead a simple and healthy life eating sardines and are looking forward to learning a new language. They deserve this!

To make this work, they need help with expenses such as:

• Storage for their belongings

• Airfare

• Transatlantic moving costs and arrangements for them and the pets

• Visas and pet exams and other incidentals

These expenses are not insignificant, and many of them will hit before Anni and Michael have the proceeds from selling their house.

We’re asking you to help ease their burden and allow them to rest after so many years of hard work!
