There are two things we’ve always known about our mom– she loves God and the great outdoors.
Ever since childhood, our mom was the parent who took kids on adventures. We were never just going for a walk. We were explorers about to make a great discovery.
We’ve been chasing after this woman our entire lives because no one could outwalk Annette Winger.
Her love for God and people has compelled her to always give generously of both her time and resources. Many folks have taken to calling her Oma like her grandchildren because she makes people feel welcomed and at home.
Over the years Anette could be found kayaking down the river, snorkeling with sharks, jumping from boats, hiking, biking, and ziplining. An unstoppable force of energy and determination.
All the while and barely known to the people around her, her hips were in severe pain. It’s only been in the last couple of years it's become obvious how much pain she’s really been in.
We’ve had to watch our mom go from the fearless leader of every adventure, to painstakingly trailing along in a refusal to give up on the things she loves despite the intense physical pain she is in.
She’s put on a brave face because she is the strongest person we know, but the time has come for her to receive help instead of giving it.
Our mom needs a double hip replacement, and it’s not going to be cheap.
Our parents are selfless. They have helped the homeless, given without expecting in return, fed the hungry, done prison outreach, prayed for the sick, and held the hand of anyone who needed them.
It is my hope that people will be there for them in their time of need the way they have been for so many others. Any donations to my mom’s surgery fund would be greatly appreciated! We’re seeking to raise as much as possible for her surgery which is scheduled to take place on June 20th, 2022, with the whopping estimated bill of 60,000 USD.
If you don’t have the resources to donate, sharing this post would go a long way for our goal! Most of all, we appreciate your prayers!
