Annette Rivera's Memorial

On September 22, 2020, Annette took her final breath at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She fought tirelessly and told everyone who loved her to look after Aubri. It’s a parent’s nightmare to leave behind their child at such a young age. So, as a member of Aubri’s support system, we have set up this GoFundMe to help her lay her mom to rest.
In 2017, Annette was diagnosed with stage three, triple-negative breast cancer, and beat it. Sadly, routine check-ups weren’t enough, and in February 2020, she was rediagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer that spread to her brain, lungs, and spine, leaving her paralyzed on her left side. Annette was on a mission to heal herself by any means necessary, so she sought alternative treatments in Mexico after finishing chemotherapy. When she returned this June, she was a different person physically, mentally, and spiritually. She was able to walk up an entire flight of stairs by herself and came back with a deep love, understanding, and appreciation for life. Her final act as a mother was giving Aubri away to Deekay this August in a small wedding ceremony.
A long-time gymnast and coach at Planet Gymnastics, her smile, energy, leadership, and love will be missed by so many children and parents in the Sacramento community.
This entire year has been overwhelming for Aubri, Deekay, and Annette’s two little sisters Elizabeth and Andrea, so we’ve set this up in hopes of making the burden a little lighter.
On Monday, October 5, 2020, an outside viewing and memorial service for Annette will be held at East Lawn in Elk Grove from 10am-1pm. We ask that all attendees please wear masks and practice social distancing.
Viewing and Memorial: 9189 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624.
