Dear Friends & Family,

As many of you know, in January, although I was in relatively good health, I received the shocking diagnosis of ovarian cancer. I immediately stopped teaching and playing music to make time for further testing and to prepare for my surgery. I am so thankful for an amazing surgical team that got it all! As I recover from this major surgery, I am learning to be patient as my body slowly repairs itself. I feel so blessed to have so many supportive people in my life who have reached out to give me words of encouragement, and especially to my cousins who have given me a safe place to heal as I go through the ups and downs of recovery from surgery, which honestly has been so much harder than I ever imagined.

My continued treatment plan including chemo, of which I'm totally terrified and other therapies will begin in a few weeks. I'm setting up this GoFundMe account to help with all the additional costs.
