Anne's Medical Heart Funds
Donation protected
On Friday evening, December 6, my dearest wife Anne suffered from a severe heart attack. It was diagnosed as a “widow-maker” and the worst type for one to have. She was taken by ambulance to FMH, where they immediately placed a balloon to improve blood flow through her aortic valve.
As a priority 1 patient, she was airlifted to John Hopkins in Bethesda, where she was in ICU for several days before being placed in the Cardiac Dept for observation and extensive treatment with medication to help her condition. She was cared for by an amazing team of cardiologists at John Hopkins, and it was found that because of the severity of the damage to her heart, my dearest wife Anne is not a candidate for bypass surgery nor a heart transplant.
We came home on Sunday, December 15th, to begin the lengthy process of recovery and treatment to manage her condition with medication.
Anne was excited to begin preparing for retirement and had started paperwork with Medicare/Medicaid, but unfortunately, it is still in process. We are now faced with surmounting bills as we begin to come up for air from her hospital stay and the next steps to aid in her recovery and map out our new normal. Anne will need medical support through specialist care and daily medications for the rest of her life. Routine medications alone are costing over $5000 a month until we finalize her health coverage.
It is difficult for Anne or me to ask for help, and if you know us, you also know that we are the ones who typically help others. This is very humbling for me to ask but necessary as Anne is the love of my life, and finances should not get in the way of the care that she requires. So, if you can help in any way, we would appreciate it.
Please keep us in your prayers, and may God bless us all and bless others in need of help every day.
Kind Regards,
Walter
