About a month ago, I turned in an application for Stanford University's summer college program for highschool students, and a few days ago I was accepted. This is an incredible opportunity where I would be taking eight college courses and living in the campus dorms for eight weeks this summer. Stanford has been my dream school since I was eight years old, and this program is invaluable to me. In the program, I will earn college credits, furthering my education and improving my academic acheivements. However, I wasn't given financial aid and tuition is $12,000, covering course costs, housing, a meal plan, and other services available on campus. I must accept or decline the offer in two weeks, but I don't need the money when I accept it- just by the final payment in July. My goal after college is to become a professional writer, and the language and literature classes I plan on taking at Stanford will help me for the rest of my schooling and beyond.
