My name is Anne. I live on the Sussex Coast. I am facing a winter with no roof on my house, no insulation, just bare rafters and scaffolding. In February/March I was the victim of a rogue builder who took thousands over his quoted price, taking my savings. Then a scammer coerced me into over £50,000 of debt, stating the intention of earning enough to pay the builder, pay the loan repayments and leave me with a bit better lifestyle than I've had since my husband died. The builder vanished leaving me with no roof, the scammer vanished leaving me with no money. I have "tin hat" scaffolding over my house and have to pay £100 a week to keep it there and my money is running out. Once the payments cease, which they will within weeks now, the scaffolders will take the tin hat and scaffolding down and the first rain will dissolve the bedroom ceilings into all bedrooms etc. I need £21,000 to complete the roof replacement, money to pay the debts and money to restore the house inside. Out of 4 bedrooms there is nowhere to sleep in safety except the sofa in the living room. I am severely disabled with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, double hip dysplasia, deformity in lumbar spine etc. Scaffolders don't care, they want their metalwork back. I have tried every possible funding resource I can find and no one can help because I do not have dementia!

I live here on my own with my beautiful silver grey cat, Suki, and my house is unsaleable. It has been my home since 1981. Physically, I could not cope with moving house anyway, and I don't want to move. This has been my home for 44 years. Please can you help me?
