Hello Everyone,
My name is Demetria Horton and I'm organizing this GO Fund Me Page for my Mother Ann Brooks. Before I tell you what is needed, let me tell you her story.
My mother is loving, caring, and a hard worker. She served her country in the US Military; however, she made the decision to be discharged to raise her children. After her time in the military, she continued to work diligently until she was 37yrs old. At this time a healthy, young woman became ill. My mother suffered two(2) heart attacks which resulted in a Quadruple By Pass. Even after suffering those two heart attacks and major surgery; she didn't let this stop her. She continues to work on her health on daily basis by exercising, her strong faith, and refusing to be a product of her condition. She attends ALL her doctor visits and follows the regime set by her Doctors. However, after 22 yrs of maintain this regime; My mother fell ill in October 2017 and this resulted in her having mitral valve surgery. Since this time she has been working with Doctors from Wake Medical and Duke University to make sure she is continuing to follow the appropriate regime. Now to the part of why the Go Fund Me: My mother was informed that she will need a heart transplant.
Since October 2017, My mother has been in and out of the hospital numerous times; she has gone through the Heart Transplant study and she was informed that she would have to raise $12,000.00. This will be used towards the medication that would be needed.
I can say that my mother is a very private person and she wouldn't usually do this; however, your assistance is needed for this great task. ANY amount that could be donated will be greatly appreciated. I would like to thank everyone who donates in advance for your selflessness in her time of need. She has two loving daughters, a dedicated husband of 38yrs, three grandchildren, and a host of family and friends that she supports with her love and selflessness.
I will keep everyone updated on her progress as we go along.
