My mother, Anna May DeLeon, passed away early in the morning on August 20th, 2025. She was the most loving, caring, accepting person and the most amazing wife and mother to my father and I. Her life’s work was dedicated to helping people. She worked as an oncology nurse for many years and then went on to work in social services helping people re enter the workforce after dealing with tough times and most recently helping people dealing with addiction and mental illness and street houseless people obtain and keep housing. She loved rock music (her favorite band was My Chemical Romance), animals (she was an adamant supporter of animal adoption and rescue) and her family. She is survived by her husband Antonio DeLeon, her daughter Juliana DeLeon, and her son-in-law Jason Varma.

As her passing was sudden and unexpected, our lives were turned upside down. My mother’s wishes were always to be cremated and we wish to honor that.
