Annabelle the giraffe needs a companion.
Tax deductible
Recently Jimmie the giraffe, who at the time was the world's oldest male giraffe, passed away. Jimmie and Annabelle enjoyed each others company. They often greeted each other many times a day. Annebelle would often “check on” Jimmie when he chose not to go outside. Many at the Zoo credit Annabelle's companionship as being very helpful to Jimmie’s fight to keep going as long as he did.
Unfortunately, Jimmy's battle with Father Time came to its inevitable conclusion. That was a very sad day. But the zoo must now turn it's full attention to Annabelle and move forward. Annabelle has never been alone before. She grew up with her family and then moved in with Jimmie. Giraffes are herd animals and while Annebelle has her keepers, she needs a companion. The cost of a giraffe that is compatible with insurance and specialized transportation would come to $62,000. We have already raised 13,000! We also have some great news. We have a doner that is willing to match dollar for dollar up to $25,000 all contributions from this day forward. We know for many times is tough but we ask everyone to please consider helping. If you can not donate, you can still help by spreading the word, asking others, an employer, business or others to donate.
