Help Us Rebuild Hope for Anna Ritchie School
Last Friday (13th December), Anna Ritchie School, a cherished community hub for young people with additional support needs, was targeted by shocking vandalism. Windows were shattered, and our beloved school bus—a vital lifeline for many of our pupils—was severely damaged.
For most, this might sound like "just a few repairs," but for our pupils, it’s so much more. Imagine walking into a classroom with boarded-up windows, unable to understand why they’re there. Or being told you can’t go on the much-anticipated outings that bring so much joy and connection, all because someone chose to vandalise the very tools that enable those moments.
For our young people, the bus is more than just transport—it’s freedom, inclusion, and a bridge to the wider community. It gives them access to the outdoors, social opportunities, and a chance to experience the world beyond the classroom. Now, they’re left without it.
These children face challenges most of us can’t imagine. They don’t deserve this additional burden.
As the Parent Council, we’re fundraising to repair the damage and support our school in a broader sense. Anna Ritchie School has so much potential, but we can’t do it alone.
This Christmas, if you’re considering donating to a charity, please think of us. Every contribution will help bring smiles, stability, and hope to these incredible pupils.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Let’s make this a season of giving back.
