On Monday, April 10th I was rushed to the PMC with pneumonia. Since then in addition to the pneumonia a large pleural effusion taking up more than 3/4s of my lung as well as several blood clots in my right leg have been discovered. I was hospitalized at the PMC from the 10th to the 13th, on the 13th I was rushed to Billings clinic via ambulance. Yesterday I successfully had surgery to insert a chest tube to drain the fluid that’s surrounding 3/4s of my left lung, as well as surgery placing a filter into my leg to prevent any of the blood clots from moving from my leg. They plan on keeping the chest tube in for the next few days at least to make sure they get all the fluid out. They’ve been able to determine that the pneumonia was caused by a MRSA bacteria and that’s being treated by a heavy duty IV antibiotic. They are still currently unsure how long I will have to remain here or if I will have to have an additional surgery, it depends on if the chest tube is able to drain all the fluid or if I will have to have an additional more advanced operation to remove the rest. Upon my release from the hospital I will stay with my parents until I can do things independently safely. At any rate I will not be able to return to work for at the very least next 4 to 6 weeks. As a Bartender/Server and single mother missing that much work is going to be financially devastating as most of my income is completely reliant on tips. My parents have been amazing in helping me with my son, but they are both retired and on a fixed income and I can’t ask them to shoulder all of my expenses for the next month or potentially longer. Anything donated will go towards my bills for the next month and anything left over is going to be allocated towards what is going to be a very expensive hospital bill(s). If you aren’t able to donate please share this, and keep my son and I in your thoughts and prayers for a successful recovery.
Much Love and Thanks,
Anna
