After 3 VERY long years of not having an answer as to why Anna was so sick, we finally got the most amazing call... The answer!!!! It's going to be a major surgery with a very intense recovery. A week to 10 days in the hospital with about a month recovery.
Anna started her journey on Mitchell's birthday October 22 2017. She was very badly misdiagnosed with an eating disorder, abdominal migraines, cyclic vomiting, gastroparesis, she got her gallbladder taken out about 2 years ago. Her Dr at UNC was very convinced it was Rumination syndrome and was wanting to send her to Nationwide children's for a one month inpatient treatment. Anna's had MANY feeding tubes ng and nj, both crazy unpleasant through yours nose into either your stomach or intestine just to keep her alive, as there were many times I thought I was going to lose her
Through the help of my stubbornness and Facebook we found Dr Petty at Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem. After many tests, she finally had an arteriogram that gave us the answers... MALS!!!! The one I knew in my heart to be true. It's an open surgery that will take about 5-6 hours to complete because Anna has difficult anatomy. After that a very painful and long recovery, but my girl is in for the fight!
We'll be 2 hours away at Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem. We're hoping this Christmas that Anna can finally enjoy a REAL Christmas meal!!! With all this comes a huge financial burden as I'm also not going to have a job to come back to. Please keep Anna in your prayers as she goes into surgery on Thursday. Keep the boys in your prayers as well as I won't be able to see them. I thank you for any little bit you can help with. I know these are hard times for us all.
